Ted Hill

Born and raised in Aylesbury (via-Wolverhampton), Cambridge alumnus Ted Hill delivers unashamedly silly, high-energy, multimedia stand-up with a disarming, warm and charming demeanour. Having ADHD himself, Ted knows how to grab any audience’s attention, and once he’s got it, he holds it using any and all means at his disposal - with assorted visual aids, flipcharts and overhead projectors coupled with quick-paced delivery of jokes which come thick and fast. His material takes complex and detailed topics and breaks them down in an elaborately childish way, in what he describes as  “taking silliness very seriously”. His likeable and engaging stage persona has no doubt been honed and perfected by his work presenting 1000+ hours of live shows as a children’s presenter for both the Zoological Society of London and The Science Museum, where he now works, when he’s not performing stand-up in venues all across the country.

Ted is a confident, energetic and charismatic MC and is regularly performing paid spots (10s, 15s and 20s) in numerous venues across London and further afield. He has 200+ comedy gigs under his belt as well as a recent accolade as a semi-finalist in the Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year competition (see clip below). Recent paid gigs include MCing with Vauxhall Comedy and StraightUp Comedy and as well as paid spots with Monkey Barrel, Jerico Comedy, Dulwich Hamlet Comedy Club and at the MOTH Club. He was a paid contributor for Mark Watson’s ‘Watsonathon’ and performed at the sold-out Bloomsbury Theatre show ‘The Festival of Spoken Nerd’. His latest project, on top of this year’s debut solo Edinburgh Fringe show, is the launch of ‘Niche Humar’, Ted’s monthly comedy night where top pro acts perform specialised sets covering a single ‘niche’ topic.
