Mel Owen

Career...

Mel Owen, dubbed “Wales’ most exciting new act” (Clwb Comedy) and “one to watch” (The Scotsman), is an award-winning comedian with wins under her belt from Comedy Smash (Liverpool), Comedy Virgins (London) and Comedy Chest (Bristol).

She has performed at the Netflix Is A Joke fesitval (Los Angeles), with critics pinning her as “a fiery, unforgettable performer”. At the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Mel sold out her show Chunky Monkey which was met with five star media acclaim.

Mel has script writing credits on Radio 4, BBC Cymru Wales and Channel 4, and created one of Wales’ most popular podcasts Mel Mal Jal, now on BBC Sounds.
